Google’s video generation model, Veo 3, is now available in 71 additional countries, according to Josh Woodward, VP, Google Labs & Gemini. The update was announced on May 24, approximately 100 hours after the model’s launch. The model was initially available only to users in the US.

Users in newly added regions can now generate videos using Veo 3, which includes the ability to add synchronised audio.

“Now, we’re excited to announce: 71 new countries have access,” Woodward wrote on X. He also confirmed that “Pro subscribers get a trial pack of Veo 3 on the web (mobile soon)” and “Ultra subscribers get the highest number of Veo 3 gens with refreshes.”

Google AI Ultra is now available in the US for $249.99 per month, with a special 50% discount for first-time users during the first three months.

Countries that have received access include Australia, Canada, Japan, Malaysia, Brazil, South Korea, Türkiye, and South Africa, among others. Although many regions have gained access to the tool, countries in the European Union remain notably excluded from this rollout.

When asked about the absence of India from the rollout, Woodward responded, “Working to enable India as fast as we can!” Interestingly, Pakistan has been given access to the video generation model. Veo 3 differs from earlier models and current competitors by integrating audio generation. The tool can create background sounds like traffic, nature sounds, and character dialogue, a feature not currently available in OpenAI’s Sora,Meta’s MovieGen, Runway ML’s Gen-4, Pika Labs, or Stability AI’s Stable Video 4D 2.0.
