A civil defense mock drill is scheduled to take place on Thursday, May 29, across the Indian states adjoining Pakistan— Gujarat, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Jammu and Kashmir, according to several media reports.
This comes weeks after India launched ‘Operation Sindoor’ against Pakistan on the intervening night of May 6 and 7, to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack. in which 26 tourists were killed on April 22.
The five states bordering Pakistan, on India’s western end had borne the brunt of intense cross-border hostilities during the recently concluded four-day conflict, will engage in this exercise to enhance preparedness and strategic responsiveness.
